Anthony D. Padgett – Director

Mr. Padgett has an extensive background in both agribusiness and international transactions and trade law. During his business career, he has established agricultural companies and operations throughout Asia, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and South America, having lived and worked in France, Spain, Singapore, and the Middle East. He practiced law in Washington, D.C. and New York City from 1982 – 1993, and was a partner with Thelen, Marrin, Johnson & Bridges.

Mr. Padgett entered the agribusiness industry in 1993, serving as the Managing Director for Sunseeds Europe, with general management responsibilities for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. He later joined Monsanto as the Director of Business Development for the Asia-Pacific region, based in Singapore. Mr. Padgett went on to become the Managing Director of Monsanto’s seed business outside of the U.S. and Canada. In 2005, Mr. Padgett co-founded Torch Hill Capital, a private equity business based in New York City and Washington, D.C. He also was founding partner in Twenty-Two North, LLC, a management consulting and business brokerage company in agribusiness.

Mr. Padgett holds a BA degree from Denison University in Granville, Ohio and a JD from the New York University School of Law. He remains a member of the New York and District of Columbia Bar.
